Shankara, like millions of other Indian farmers, had been promised previously unheard of harvests and income if he switched from farming with traditional seeds to planting GM seeds instead.

Beguiled by the promise of future riches, he borrowed money in order to buy the GM seeds. But when the harvests failed, he was left with spiralling debts - and no income.

So Shankara became one of an estimated 125,000 farmers to take their own life as a result of the ruthless drive to use India as a testing ground for genetically modified crops.

The crisis, branded the ‘GM Genocide’ by campaigners, was highlighted recently when Prince Charles claimed that the issue of GM had become a ‘global moral question’ - and the time had come to end its unstoppable march.

There will be something missing from Oxford’s Christmas lights display this year - any mention of Christmas.

Traditional themes are also being dumped in favour of a 25-metre high mobile of lanterns in the shape of the solar system.

Organisers say the new two-month WinterLight festival will include events marking the Hindu Diwali and Jewish Hannukah festivals as well as Christmas. It also coincides with the start of International Year of Astronomy 2009.

But religious leaders in the city condemned the change.

Sabir Hussain Mirza, chairman of the Muslim Council of Oxford, said: ‘I’m really upset. Christians, Muslims and other religions all look forward to Christmas.’

Rabbi Eli Bracknell of the Jewish Educational Centre said: ‘ Anything that waters down traditional culture and Christianity is not positive for the British identity. WinterLight includes all festivals but it also conceals them.’

Reverend James Grote, of the John Bunyan Baptist Church, said: ‘People are not offended by hearing each other’s faiths.’

But Ed Turner, deputy leader of Oxford council, said: ‘We are not Christmas killers. There’s no desire to downgrade its importance or prominence - there’s still going to be a Christmas tree.’

( Apparantly this has been organised by the “Oxford Inspire” charity which is the cultural arm of Oxford Council and sounds like a Common Purpose ‘Inspired’ sort of organisation  and we all know how much Oxford has been infiltrated by Common purpose and it’s Cohorts)

It’s a simple pleasure that brings a little extra joy to these pensioners’ lives.
Once a day the seven friends meet up for a cup of tea and a chat on the benches outside the sheltered accommodation where they live.

But their get-togethers could soon be banned - because of claims they are an anti-social nuisance.

The housing association which owns their homes says it has received several complaints over the past two years about noise from the group, the oldest of whom is aged 96.
It is warning them that the four benches they sit on could be removed unless the friends keep it down.

Gordon Brown’s tax raid on pension funds has snatched £17,000 from every worker’s retirement pot, research says today.

Yet the value of public sector schemes - funded by taxpayers - has soared to an astonishing £1trillion.

Opposition MPs, business chiefs and campaigners demanded an investigation into the growing ‘pensions apartheid’.

The report, The UK Pensions Crisis, is the work of the TaxPayers’ Alliance and Terry Arthur, a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

It says Mr Brown’s decision in 1997, when he was Chancellor, to axe tax relief on dividends paid to pension funds has cost private occupational schemes £175billion.

This amounts to £16,600 for each of the 10.5million retirement pots of current workers. If the pensions being paid to retired staff are taken into account, it is still an average deficit of £6,000.

Mr Brown’s decision forced companies to make up massive shortfalls and began the decline of final salary schemes.

The number of members of private sector schemes has fallen from 6.1million in 1995 to 3.6million last year. At that rate, says the report, there will be no paying-in members of occupational schemes within 12 years.

The growing gulf between private and public sectors has become an increasing source of bitterness over recent years and this is particularly acute in the current economic crisis.

The average private sector worker retires with a pension pot worth £25,100  -  enough to pay them about £1,700 a year.  The average public sector worker will retire with a pot of £427,275 - worth £17,091 a year.

If the world-wide trend continues, ‘Web 3.0′ will be tightly monitored, and will become an unprecedented tool for surveillance. The “Internet of Things”, a digital representation of real world objects and people tagged with RFID chips, and increased censorship are two main themes for the future of the web.

The future of the internet, according to author and “web critic” Andrew Keen, will be monitored by “gatekeepers” to verify the accuracy of information posted on the web. The “Outlook 2009″ report from the November-December issue of The Futurist reports that, “Internet entrepreneur Andrew Keen believes that the anonymity of today’s internet 2.0 will give way to a more open internet 3.0 in which third party gatekeepers monitor the information posted on Web sites to verify its accuracy.”

Keen stated during his early 2008 interview with The Futurist that the internet, in its current form, has undermined mainline media and empowered untrustworthy “amateurs”, two trends that he wants reversed. “Rather than the empowerment of the amateur, Web 3.0 will show the resurgence of the professional,” states Keen.

Australia has now joined China in implementing mandatory internet censorship, furthering the trend towards a locked down and monitored web.

MASS vaccination of Scottish schoolgirls against cervical cancer should have been delayed because not enough is known about possible side effects, a leading researcher claimed last night.
Dr Diane Harper, one of the world’s leading experts in the field, said safety trials of the Cervarix vaccine should have been conducted for at least four more years before the decision was taken to give the jabs to thousands of girls in schools.

Harper concedes that Cervarix is effective against the HPV virus that causes many cases of cervical cancer and admits there is no evidence so far of any serious side effects. Manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline says rigorous tests have been conducted over six years.

But Harper believes the safety tests for side effects should have been conducted for at least a decade and doses given to millions of individuals around the world before any mass vaccination began. She described the cervical cancer vaccination scheme in Scotland as an “experiment”.

THE SEIZURE OF THE MINDS OF AMERICAN INFANTS is about to take place in a Barack Obama presidency. This will occur in Obama’s Early Childhood Proposals in a subheading which he calls the, Zero To Five plan. Here is what our coming Big Brother, Barack Obama, has to say about this plan:

“The Zero To Five plan places a key emphasis on early care and education for infants. This is essential for children to be ready to enter kindergarten.

I will create Early Learning Challenge Grants to promote state Zero To Five efforts to help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school.” View Entire Plan Here.

These few sentences from the mouth of Obama are loaded with Big Brother invasive plans for our lives and culture.

OBAMA’S SEIZURE OF THE MINDS of American infants is loaded with Big Brother invasive plans that will take us a giant step away from private freedoms.

First of all, Obama is calling for “early care” of America’s infants. This is an obvious “hook” for parents to unload their children into the arms of Big Brother for relief from the burden of oversight.

Because of rapid inflation due to the takeover of our monetary system by the Zionist Jews of the Federal Reserve Bank, both parents of “zero to five” aged children are now forced to work full time jobs. Thus Obama’s Zero To Five plan will be looked upon as a godsend by working mothers — a free “baby-sitting” service provided by the Federal Government. But Obama’s baby-sitting service will be nothing less than a “social-engineering” program.

Secondly, an “education” for infants & toddlers will be at the hands of the Federal Government, a “secularized” and “Anti-Christian” entity. What will the Federal Government poison infants aged “zero to five” with? We all know the answer.
