Oil Creation Theory Challenged by Fuel-Making FungusPosted by: Andrew Cheetham in Energy, Planetary Change And The Environment, Science And TechnologyA newfound fungus living in rainforest trees makes biofuel more efficiently than any other known method, researchers say. In fact, it’s so good at turning plant matter into fuel that researchers say their discovery calls into question the whole theory of how crude oil was made by nature in the first place. While many crops and microbes can be combined to make biofuels — including the fungi that became infamous as jungle rot during WWII — the newfound fungus could greatly simplify the process, its discoverers claim. Researchers have suggested that billions of acres of fallow farmland could be used to grow the raw material of biofuels. But turning corn stalks or switchgrass into fuel is a painstaking process and the end product is expensive and not entirely friendly to the environment. The fungus, which has been named Gliocladium roseum, stands out in the crowd. “This is the only organism that has ever been shown to produce such an important combination of fuel substances,” said researcher Gary Strobel from Montana State University. “The fungus can even make these diesel compounds from cellulose, which would make it a better source of biofuel than anything we use at the moment.”

Unions Call For Right To Expel BNP MembersPosted by: Andrew Cheetham in Globalisation And The European Union, Political ManipulationTrade unions want the right under UK law to expel British National Party activists - and deny them membership - as part of Labour plans to check the electoral advance of the far right. Labour backbenchers, supported by all the biggest unions, will unveil the plan on Tuesday when they put forward an amendment to the Employment Bill that would allow them to ban racists. The proposal - labelled ‘Stalinist’ by the BNP - comes amid concern that it could win as many as three seats in next year’s European Parliament elections and make strong gains in council elections. Labour MPs, many of whom feel threatened by the BNP’s advances in their constituencies, are concerned that the party is encouraging activists to infiltrate unions in order to spread subversive, racist messages in the workplace.

Obama Is Elected PresidentPosted by: Andrew Cheetham in Globalisation And The European Union, Illuminati Criminals, Mind ControlBarack Obama made history early today by becoming America’s first black president. ‘It’s been a long time coming, but tonight… change has come to America,’ the president-elect told jubilant supporters in Chicago. The triumphant 47-year-old son of a black Kenyan father and a white mother from Kansas spoke after romping to a landslide victory over crushed Republican candidate John McCain. It was the crowning moment of a staggering rise from being a virtually unknown first-time US senator two years ago to become the most powerful man in the world. Moments after the polls closed in California, Mr Obama was hailed the winner of the state’s 55 electoral votes - taking him over the 270 total needed to capture the presidency. He told a crowd of 50,000 supporters in Chicago it was time to put ‘hands on the arc of history and bend it once more to the hope of a better day.

First ID Cards For Britons From Autumn Next Year, Jacqui Smith to SayPosted by: Andrew Cheetham in Big Brother, Globalisation And The European Union, Political ManipulationFrom Nov 25 this year, ID cards are compulsory for foreign nationals who come to Britain. However, the Home Secretary will say in a speech to the Social Market Foundation tomorrow [thurs] that compulsory ID cards for “airside” workers will be introduced at two of Britain’s airports from next autumn. The plans will be phased in at Manchester and London City and then expanded to all airports after 18 months. The cards will cost £30 each. Unions have fought the plans because they are concerned that their members will be used as “guinea pigs” for a national ID card scheme, which has been criticised by civil liberties groups. The fact that the scheme will only be phased could be seen as a partial victory by opponents. It also could delay any national roll-out of the scheme until well after the next general election, which must be held by May 2010. If the Tories win power, they have vowed to scrap the scheme. A spokesman for white collar Public and Commercial Services Union said: “There are concerns among our members that they are being used as guinea pigs to push through a national ID card scheme. “Added to this are unanswered questions about the security and integrity of the system and how their data will be held.” James Hall, chief executive of the Identity and Passport Service, said last night: “Confirming our plans for identity cards for airside workers is a major step in delivering the National Identity Scheme.

U.S./U.K. Allies Grab Congo Riches and Millions DiePosted by: Andrew Cheetham in False Flag Incidents/Cover ups, Hidden History, Illuminati Criminals, War And TerrorOnce again, the suffering of African people caught up in a war that makes little sense to non-Africans has made the front pages in western media, as more than a million people have been displaced in the past week by re-newed fighting in the Eastern Congo. For most Americans who don’t pay much attention to the details of African history and politics, the humanitarian disaster in the Congo has exploded into public consciousness, as if the 25-year war to control Central Africa began only yesterday. But, in fact, the human rights disaster that the people of the world are watching on our TV screens is just the most recent human tragedy in a 25 year struggle for economic and political dominance in Central Africa that has been raging since the decline and eventual collapse of the Soviet influence in Africa in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. A sad fact of the 20th Century is that, even after the end of formal “colonialism” in the mid-20th Century, ruling African elites in virtually every African nation have looked to one or more powerful “sponsors” in the developed world to gain or retain power. And, to grab the personal wealth that goes with political/military power in Africa.

Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine FraudPosted by: Andrew Cheetham in False Flag Incidents/Cover ups, Health-Physical And Mental, Science And TechnologyFor several years the pharmaceutical firm has made aggressive efforts to market the Gardasil human papilloma virus vaccine as a prevention for cervical cancer. The governor of the state of Texas made the administration of this vaccine to young girls mandatory. Natural News reporter Mike Adams has uncovered some interesting facts about this vaccine. The FDA has been aware since 2003 that Human Papillloma Virus does not cause cervical cancer. The Gardasil vaccine is unable to eradicate HPV virus from women who have been exposed to HPV(nearly all sexually active women). This makes vaccinating all young women in Texas against HPV virus a very questionable decision. To make matters even worse it has now been learned that vaccinating women with Gardasil may actually increase the risk that those women harboring a benign cervical HPV viral infection have a 44.6 percent increased risk of having their benign HPV infection converted into a precancerous state by the HPV vaccine administration. Thus women vaccinated with Gardasil not only receive no benefit those who were sexually active before the vaccine administration have become at increased risk for developing cervical cancer.

Dozens Of Wedding Guests Killed In Afghanistan Air StrikesPosted by: Andrew Cheetham in War And TerrorDozens of Afghan civilians are dead and dozens more are wounded after a series of air strikes aimed at Taliban fighters fell short of their target and exploded in the middle of a wedding party in a mountainous region north of Kandahar city, tribal elders and wedding guests told The Globe and Mail on Tuesday.Survivors of the attacks, which occurred in the village of Wech Baghtu in the district of Shah Wali Kowt on Monday evening, said the majority of the dead and injured were women – the bombs struck while male and female wedding guests were segregated, as is customary in Kandahar province. They said the bodies of at least 36 women have been identified, and hundreds more men and women have been injured. Local leaders have yet to establish a firm casualty count because many of the victims remain buried beneath rubble, said Abdul Hakim Khan, a tribal elder from the district. In interviews at Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar city, where at least 16 male victims and dozens of female victims were being treated Tuesday night, several villagers described the attack. While Mr. Khan corroborated much of the information witnesses gave during a separate interview, it was not possible to independently verify their account or the numbers of dead and injured they gave. Witnesses gave conflicting statements about the identity of troops who arrived at the scene after the air attacks, with some saying they saw Canadian soldiers while others said they saw U.S. troops. It was not immediately clear which international forces were responsible for the air strikes.

Doling Out Our Money: How Jobless Foreigners Who Go Home Can Still Claim Benefits HerePosted by: Andrew Cheetham in Globalisation And The European Union, Political AbsurdityJobless Eastern Europeans who return home are being paid dole money by the British taxpayer, it emerged last night. They stem from a little-known EU directive which says that provided an unemployed worker is seeking a job in their homeland, they can continue to be paid benefits by the country where they were laid off. Job centre managers in Poland are even holding workshops and seminars on how claimants can keep using the UK for unemployment handouts. |
